Jusssstttt Try And Relax...

Hey guys, guess what today is? That's right! Injury report day!

From time to time I like to masochisticly celebrate this much anticipated day of the week...and today's one of those times.

So, while it won't be fun, and it may not be entertaining, I'm going to attempt to handicap the odds of five particular Steelers taking the field for Sunday's Hatriot hunt.

KEISEL THE DIESEL

10 to 1. In fact, 2 to 1 he doesn't play for a month. Seriously? Man, that sucks! What are you smiling about, dude? Go get your shit a massage or something, for Christ's sake!

MASTER FLY W. LARGE

3 to 1. Unless he has some freak lawn darts accident tomorrow, all signs point to him playing. My sources tell me his vagina's healing real nicely.

SANSMOKIO THE BEAR

Without Weed - 1 to 1
With Weed - 6 to 1
The only way 'Tone doesn't play in this one is if he forgets he has a game on Sunday afternoon. In that case, we'll probably find him at Taco Bell.

BRYANT MCSICKGOATEE

I'm gonna go 5 to 1, here. If he harnesses the power of that chiseled-ass goat, we're good. If not, we'll have to see. Man, I wish I could grow facial hair. Maybe when I'm 30.

And last but certainly not least...

STEELY MCBEAM

1 to 1. God would never allow me the satisfaction...after all, I'm in law school.

So, how do you guys feel about all of this? Which of these injuries is potentially the worst (besides my bruised brain)? And has anyone had a nightmare involving that Steely McDevil photoshop yet?

...'cause that'd be awesome...

Taking Inventory...

Night terrors, here I come...
Ok, so here's the state of the Steelers affairs, as I currently understand it...

Tomlin is only "hopeful" that Ben can PRACTICE this week.

Willie Parker, despite reports of a torn labrum, will hopefully be back in practice tomorrow and in the lineup on Sunday.

The Steelers signed Fernando Bryant to the active roster and Ryan Mundy to the practice squad. Which, as Domski pointed out earlier, is particularly apropos because it appears Deshea Townsend will not play Sunday and McFadden's still out with the forearm injury.

It also "appears" that Heath Miller's going to miss Sunday's game, but The Wood should be back.

And as if the eight interceptions in the last three games aren't embarrassing enough, Steely McBeam is still in existence (see above).

The Steelers are 6-3. So are the Ravens.

So as I'll paraphrase from Matt this morning - Playoffs? Are we talking about playoffs?

Personally, I think the Steelers will be fine. I'm certainly not pleased with the Offensive inconsistency and predictability. But when it comes right down to it, I have faith in Tomlin, Big Ben, Hines and the rest of the squad to go strong down the stretch run even with all of the injuries.

Besides, the Defense is playing out of its mind. It sucks that neither Deshea (likely) nor McFadden will be playing on Sunday. But Willie Gay has been filling in nicely and at least we've got a veteran backup there behind him (in Fernando Bryant) as well as Special Teamer Anthony Madison.

So at this point, I'm cautiously confident.

That said, I'd love to know what you all think about how the rest of this season will play out for us...?

Meeting People Is Easy...

Holy crap, you mean it's Friday again already?? Whoa, what the hell did I do this week? Oh well, who cares, it's Meeting People Is Easy Day!

Now, I know not all of you care about this feature. But it's my blog and I like it. Besides, if anyone else participated we might actually get to know each other. I'm sure we'll get there. Baby steps, right?

Anyways, the last couple of weeks I've taken some creative license and given you, "Meeting Our Moms Is Easy," and "Meeting Our Pets Is Easy." This week, I got cutesy again and bring you, "Meeting Mascots Is Easy."

Your lineup is as follows...

Iceburgh ~ Penguins Furry Friend
The Pirate Parrot ~ Pirates Right Hand Bird
Steely McBeam ~ Steelers...something...
Marc ~ Not really a mascot, but whatever. In the past, I've made Marc a Primanti's Sandwich, an Iron City beer bottle, and Jeff Reed. So naturally this week I made him a pierogi. And not just any pierogi. The Mrs. T's Pierogi from the Pittsburgh Pierogi Race. Marc, hope you're honored...
Crack team this week, wouldn't you agree? Hope you like it. PS - as usual if anything below appears blurry or illegible, click the image to enlarge. Though I warn you now, this one, more so than usual, is a sloppy mess...kind of like Domski. Enjoy!

Unfortunately, we made up all the answers for the mascots. So in case you thought we had that kind of pull...yeah, not so much. Maybe someday. Anyone have an in for us?

Cheers and have a great long weekend, friends! I recommend you start drinking heavily. I know I will be...
