Ain't That Some...

Here's something I've yet to understand - there are people in Hoboken, enough of them to make it a trend, who scold you for throwing poop bags in their trash cans. You know, bags you pick up your dog's shit with, because the rule says you have to.

What? Like your garbage was full of various floral arrangements and combinations of air fresheners?

Dude, trash is trash, and all trash smells like shit. Am I wrong?

I highly doubt my dogs excrement is going to taint your precious trash can in any way. But, you know, if you can explain it to me in a way I can understand that doesn't involve you just wanting to be a dick, I'm all ears.

Otherwise, eat it (literally). And perhaps next time I'll just avoid your trash can altogether and put the bag of shit right on your doorstep. How do you like that?

Cool. Call me later.

Playoffs next Sunday, kids. Get your heads in the game.

And if you're not doing anything, feel free to check out OFTOT's "Top Photoshops" of 2008 and vote for your favorites in the comments.

Meeting People Is Easy...

Hey, guess what guys? We finally got some serious participation here for Meeting People Is Easy! I'm so proud right now. Seriously. I don't mean to sound like a total puss or anything (read: Domski), but I kind of love you guys this week. I mean I love you all every week. Just a little more right now...

After sending out a mass email, I got a whole butt load of responses, and offers for even more (such as a Rusty Trombone...Tecmo...ahem). So instead of the standard panel of four, this week I've gotten real crafty and given you six. Don't ask how I did it. Just know that I am a Photoshop master...errr...at least somewhere North of novice.

Anyways, listen, I'd love to sit here and chat with you guys. But I just finished this damn thing and it's 1 AM. I'll be sleeping if you need me.

Enjoy...click to enlarge...

PS - If you haven't made your predictions for 2008 yet, speak now or forever hold your piece...get it, p-i-e-c-e. HA! I kill me.

PPS - Props to anyone who can name the TV show that last part came from...

PPPS - Big Snack's avatar is Princess Toadstool.

Meeting People Is Easy...

It's baaaacccckkkkk. I'm sure you all missed it last week, didn't you? Come on, admit it. Strong men also cry. Strong men...also cry.

Anyways, yeah. Today is "Meeting People Is Easy" day. And while this week's panel is at least half made up of people who DON'T read OFTOT, I still think it's pretty entertaining.

Your panelists here are...
Nicole ~ Also known as Mrs. Domski.
Bunda ~ Mythical creature of note.
Me ~ Original Gangsta'.
Domski ~ Does not drink beers.

I could go on, but let's face it -- It's Friday and if you guys are anything like me you just want the answers. So I'm going to leave it at that. Below are your introductions. If there's anything you can't see, click on the image. You have your instructions, now go forth and learn...

Happy Almost Weekend. Only eight more hours 'til beer...Good week friends, would you agree?

Meeting People Is Easy Not Happening Today...

First of all, SI gyped all us loyal customers this week and could only round up three athletes for their Pop Culture Grid.

Second of all, I just handed in an assignment for school yesterday.

Third of all, I had to get up unreasonably early this morning.

So I'm not particularly enamored with writing anything right now. Maybe I'll get to something later on. Or maybe Domski will interject with some non-sense about drinking or something. Either way, I'm just going to take it easy this morning...

It's Friday, people. Tell me something good.

PS - In case you missed any of the crack reporting this week...

Meeting Dinosaurs Is Easy...

Quick...no time to talk. Work dumped all over me. Friday. Meeting People Is Easy featuring...DINOSAURS!

Panel =
T-Rizzle - Tyrannosaurus Rex
Raptor-X - Velociraptor
Sparkles - Stegosaurus
B-Funk - Brontosaurus

Apologies for the seeming half-assedness. No time last night. Needed sleep. No time this morning. Too much work. Try and enjoy...

The Browns Are Now A Defensive Juggernaut!

Thanks to the NFL Network's "NFL Replay," last night I was able to re-watch the Browns vs. Steelers round two from the 2007 season. What a great way to win the 9th straight game against our "bitter rival." Watching Big Ben run the ball for 30 yards to score that touchdown put a giant smile on my face...

By now, we all know the Browns have become media darlings after posting a 10-6 record last year, yet falling short of the playoffs. But really most of this attention is because the Browns have retooled their Defensive Line by adding Shaun Rogers, Corey Williams, and welcomed another weapon to their "vaunted" Offense, signing Donte' Stallworth. What's more, Donte' was signed to a 7 year deal...and I'm still scratching my head. Do the Browns see something in Stallworth that the Eagles and Patriots didn't see after the one year he spent on each club? Can someone explain this to me?...I mean seven years!?!

Anyway, the Browns finished the 2007 season ranked 30th in total defense. (Did you notice who was #1?) Rogers and Williams, on paper, look like solutions to the Browns' inability to put pressure on opposing quarterbacks. The only question mark about Williams is his ability to transition from a 4-3 defense to Cleveland's version of the 3-4. And Shaun Rogers has shown flashes of brilliance in Detriot (as brilliant as anyone could be in Detriot that is), but has been known to get lazy and take plays off. To get Rogers the Browns had to give up a third round draft pick and starting Cornerback Leigh Bodden.

Additions aside, the Bodden deal will really hurt Cleveland's defense. And just to make matters worse, Cornerback Daven Holly recently sustained what could be a season-ending injury. Not to mention last week they cut backup Cornerback Kenny Wright, who was arrested on drug charges. So this leaves the Browns' defensive backfield, to put it diplomatically, depleted. There have been talks about reaching out for big name free agent Cornerbacks like Ty Law and Lito Sheppard, but the massive amount of spending by the Browns this year will make these signings very difficult to pull off.

To add insult to injury, Tight End Kellen Winslow Jr. is nowhere to be found during the Browns' voluntary workouts. After one productive season, Winslow is demanding a new contract with help from super-agent, Drew Rosenhaus. He's also "rehabbing" an injury in his hometown of San Diego. After being the 6th overall pick in 2004, Winslow broke his fibula - year one, pulled a Big Ben (read: motorcycle injury) - year two, and finally had a Pro Bowl caliber year in 2007. Oh, and he's also known for his big mouth.

Thanks to a commenter in the link above, Kellen has been spotted hanging out in a nightclub. If you want to see the picture go to this website....click on media, then confidential, the picture is under the date 4-16-08 Wednesday-picture 66. (I know its a lot of work, but looks like some serious rehab...LOL!). The only person in the picture that is cool is the guy with the Pirates hat on. The girls aren't too bad as well, good for you Kellen.

Finally, did I mention that this is Willie McGinest's last season?

I'm sorry you had to read about the Browns, but I love being the bearer of bad news. Now, it's your turn. What do you think about all this? Will the Browns win the AFC North, as many have predicted? Will Rogers and Williams solve all of the Browns' defensive problems? Does anyone have any memories of other Steelers vs. Browns games? (I was there for the 42-0 debacle in Cleveland a few years back...CLASSIC!)

Happy Friday everyone, enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!

Meeting People Is Easy...

Holy crap, you mean it's Friday again already?? Whoa, what the hell did I do this week? Oh well, who cares, it's Meeting People Is Easy Day!

Now, I know not all of you care about this feature. But it's my blog and I like it. Besides, if anyone else participated we might actually get to know each other. I'm sure we'll get there. Baby steps, right?

Anyways, the last couple of weeks I've taken some creative license and given you, "Meeting Our Moms Is Easy," and "Meeting Our Pets Is Easy." This week, I got cutesy again and bring you, "Meeting Mascots Is Easy."

Your lineup is as follows...

Iceburgh ~ Penguins Furry Friend
The Pirate Parrot ~ Pirates Right Hand Bird
Steely McBeam ~ Steelers...something...
Marc ~ Not really a mascot, but whatever. In the past, I've made Marc a Primanti's Sandwich, an Iron City beer bottle, and Jeff Reed. So naturally this week I made him a pierogi. And not just any pierogi. The Mrs. T's Pierogi from the Pittsburgh Pierogi Race. Marc, hope you're honored...
Crack team this week, wouldn't you agree? Hope you like it. PS - as usual if anything below appears blurry or illegible, click the image to enlarge. Though I warn you now, this one, more so than usual, is a sloppy mess...kind of like Domski. Enjoy!

Unfortunately, we made up all the answers for the mascots. So in case you thought we had that kind of pull...yeah, not so much. Maybe someday. Anyone have an in for us?

Cheers and have a great long weekend, friends! I recommend you start drinking heavily. I know I will be...

Meeting People Our Pets Is Easy...

Wake up jagoffs, it's Friday! You've successfully drolled your way through yet another work week. And hey, only one more to go until Memorial Day weekend. So rock 'n roll.

Of course, being Friday and everything, today I offer you the latest edition of Meeting People is Easy. Last week, you met our Mothers. So now, as you'll notice by the headline, you shall meet our Canine and Feline companions. Our "pets" if you will.

You all remember my dog, Nikki. So I'll spare you a lengthy description. But just know that her favorite activities include - unraveling beefy looking rope toys, begging for table scraps or treats, riding with her head out the car window at 50 mph, and competitive eating.

In addition the illustrious Nikkister, we also have Domski's pup, Franco Harris. Yep, Franco. Harris. Name may sound familiar....Anyways, Franco really likes playing with Nikki, barking forcefully at the door, sleeping on people's laps, and unplugging the X-Box's internet connection. Whenever Franco's around, there's never a dull moment. The dog never ceases to amaze me...with his ability to evacuate waste indoors that is...

Next, we have Troy Polamalu Away Jersey. Troy would be the first of Domski's duo of feline friends. Troy was the first animal to grace the Domski house and so he holds a special place in all our hearts. Troy is a nice cat. But he's scared of everything. Either scared of, or pissed off at. All in all, he's a good cat. Sucks that every time Nikki comes to visit he has to spend like two days in the closet though.

And last but certainly not least, we've got Jerome Bettis, aka "Da Baby" (Domski's nickname, not mine). Bettis is the less timid of the feline pair. She (yes, SHE) can usually be found perched anywhere nearby no matter the occasion. Beer pong, she's on the counter next to you. X-Box, she's under your chair. The cat is everywhere (because whenever I'm at Domski's place we're either playing beer pong or X-Box...or both...at the same time). Probably a good hunter. So yeah, that's Bettis. Oh, and unlike the original, she has yet to fumble the game away...

Now that you're fully acquainted with our all-star poop machines four-legged friends, I give you - Meeting Our Pets Is Easy...as usual, if anything below appears blurry or illegible, click the image to enlarge.

Hope you enjoyed this week's what-have-you...you know, the blog, and stuff. Have a great and alcoholic weekend! Gotta go, they're warming up the beer bong for me...

Meeting People Is Easy...

Booyakasha!!!!

After a long week of dicking around, Friday is finally here. So in classic One For The Other Thumb fashion, I am pleased to bring you another tantalizing edition of Meeting People Is Easy.

This week's panel is comprised of commenter/badass - Marc, zebra-hater/ex-party animal - Tobiathan, sushi wizard/blogger - Blitzburgh, and making his first appearance, author of Die Hard Steel - Neal Coolong.

As usual, if anything below seems blurry or illegible, click on the image to enlarge.

Now, as much as Cotter claims to be on hiatus, he couldn't help but comment on a couple of this week's responses. His comments, as dictated, are:

  • Number one - Marc - Cotter isn't sure if "your favorite Madonna song" is rather just a declaration of what you like to do when you're thinking about Madonna...because he says he's pretty sure that's not a Madonna song (and listen, if anyone would know...).
  • Number two - Cotter couldn't figure out how to hyperlink text in an image, but the video Blitzburgh is referring to in response to the superdelegate question is here.
  • Number three - Marc really wanted his avatar to be the Penguins streaker, but since Cotter couldn't find a good pic, he settled on his soberness, Jeff Reed.
  • Number four - Cotter "honestly believes Tobiathan was in or at least could have been in 'Rhinestone Cowboy.'" And also, in case anyone can't tell, Cotter has finally acquiesced (his word, not mine) and used Owen Schmitt as Tobiathan's avatar.
That wraps up week one of the Domski Experiment. Stay tuned for week two...how am I doin' so far?

Meeting People Is Easy...

Well, I don't consider this week's panel one of the finest ever assembled. But with a combined IQ of 37 (most of which comes from Nikki), it'll do.

Since I didn't hear much interest from anyone, and no one returned my desparate friendly e-mails, it's back to basics. This week we've got my dog - Nikki, The Immortal Eagle fan Silky Johnson, Domski and me.

I guess seeing as how you ought to know all of us far too well already, I should probably just let you read for yourselves, right? You know the drill...

And just so you know, Domski actually drinks Shirley Temples when we're all looking too.

UPDATE: So I had e-mailed my Dad to participate this week and even though he just got back to me this morning I felt obligated to share his answers with the 10 of you who will read this because they're pretty damn entertaining. Also, you'll notice since I didn't have any actual pictures of him on hand (at work) I carefully selected what I feel is a relatively appropriate avatar. Of course, he's no slacker like the dude. But he does have the sick Dude goatee and general relaxed Dude attitude. Don't think he drinks White Russians however...Anyways, check it:

Meeting People Is Easy...

Here ye, here ye! Week 4 of Meeting People Is Easy is now in session.

Last week things got switched up a bit. You all met Tobiathan and Awful Announcing AND once again got to enjoy the comedic musings of The Immortal Silky Johnson and Tecmo (the artist formerly known as "Tecmo Bowl Bo Jackson" for all you latecomers).

This week, the panel is easily just as fierce. Check 'em out:

1. Blitzburgh, blogger - Behind The Steel Curtain
Some of you may know Blitzburgh, some of you may not. For those of you who don't - Blitz runs one of the best Steeler blogs on these here internets, Behind The Steel Curtain. He also likes long walks on the beach and strawberry margaritas...not that I'd know something like that about him or anything...

2. Sheena Beaston, blogger - Sheena Beaston
To be honest with you guys, I don't know much more about Sheena than any one person can know. As legend has it, she is Tecmo's sister, plays guitar like Jimi Hendrix, and once scored a hat trick on Tom Barasso. See, even I learned something here...

3. Marc, resident badass
What can I say about Marc that hasn't already been said about Pac Man Jones? The man will make it rain on you hoes...4 Life.

4. Nikki, Cotter's pup and accomplished eating machine
I can't believe the Snikster hasn't made her way onto OFTOT sooner. I guess the occasion just never presented itself. Nevertheless, I introduce you all to Nikki, my dog and current love of my life. Nikki is a big fan of - bones, rope toys, chew-lotta treats, eating trash and biting Cotter's ankles. She has that in common with Domski.

So now that we're all acquainted, I guess there ain't nothing left but to get right to it. You'll notice some of the answers this week are kind of small and hard to read. To solve this epic mystery, click on that bad boy and it should pull up the full size image with sufficient clarity for your eyes to feast. Enjoy!

One more thing - as usual, if you'd like to participate (and of course we would love for you to participate), just drop me an email at onefortheotherthumb@gmail.com.

Happy Friday Friends, Enjoy Your Collective Weekends,

- C
