Phil Savage to the unemployment line.
Yes, this is the thanks you get for drafting Brady Quinn.
It's not so bad, though. I hear the Bengals are looking to hire a GM. And, you know, they suck too. So you should feel right at home. Plus, Marvin Lewis has but one winning season in his coaching tenure and he has yet to be fired. So you'll have that going for you...which is nice.
And hey, if it makes you feel any better, it looks as though Romeo Crennel will be joining you shortly.
That said, anyone who tells you it was nobody's fault is wrong. It was yours.
Keep it real, Phil.

AFC North Headline Of The Day...

"I'm the head coach and the buck stops at my desk. It's my charge. If we don't win games, it's on me. Just like when the offense doesn't do well, it falls on the quarterback, rightly or wrongly. But this position, the scrutiny goes with it."
Yeah, no shit, Sherlock Romeo. You're right, the buck does stop there. Had you forgotten? Did someone have to remind you, "Hey, wait, Romeo. Doesn't the buck stop here?" I think not.
But let's talk about what really matters. I wish the buck were stopping HERE. Like here, in my cube. Right about now. With like about 1000 of its buddies. And a beer bong. Ok, the beer bong's optional. But definitely the 1000 friends. Make it happen, [insert name of Cotter's employer here]!
And lastly, you know what else stops at Romeo's desk? Cheeseburgers!
While he's feasting on that giant beef patty, y'all should feast on these links...

AFC North Headline Of The Day...

So you're incensed and offended by these "quitter" comments, are you Romeo? So you say you know you're not a quitter? Well I've got two other guys (see: Jamal Lewis and Joshua Cribbs) that say some of your team quit last Thursday. I mean, I'm no expert on the Browns, nor their internal affairs, but if you're going to defend yourself and your team, dismissing these accusations, you oughta at least offer a factual basis for your defense, right? Especially since your organization denied one report earlier this season that turned out to be true (see Kellen Winslow and the Technicolor Staph Infection).
Then again, like I said, who knows what goes on in that locker room? I sure don't. Maybe Jamal Lewis is just pissed off because Brady Quinn is stealing his thunder. Or his jock strap. Or just grabbing his ass a little too often and a little too affectionately. I don't know. I'm not exactly tuned in to the Browns dealings. I'm not privy to the new shit. So ok, maybe you're not quitters. Whatever. I'm just posting this shit because I found nothing better on these here interwebs for this afternoon.
Best part of the whole article, though - "A displeased Crennel said he didn't think his players quit and any perception that they did was a poor reflection on him."
Well yeah, man. Anything negative about the team's performance can be a poor reflection on you.
But, you know, what the hell do I know? I just write the shit.
Oh yeah, and Phil Savage has got ol Romeo's back on this one. So he's got that going for him...which is nice.
Anyways, the Browns may or may not have quit, but these links just can't quit you...or is it you just can't quit these links? Now I'm confused...

AFC North Headline Of The Day...

See the fun part about this, is that this headline came from a Browns focused online outfit.
You know, I continue to be amazed by the delusions of grandeur emanating from Cleveland. I'm not saying Browns fans should expect to lose or accept the franchise's recent mediocrity. I'm simply suggesting that one game does not a season make.
Aside from last Monday's Giants game, the Browns haven't exactly looked like Super Bowl contenders. I mean, with all the injuries that team has alone, they'd be in trouble. Couple that with the struggles of their "offensive play makers" and you've got a recipe for a high '09 draft pick (providing they haven't traded them all away).
Oh Cleveland, eventually you're going to have to realize that injuries + under production on both sides of the ball + trading valuable draft picks does not equal CHAMPIONSHIP...
I'm not going to hold my breath, though.
On a lighter note, here's a fun search term for you...

AFC North Headline(s) of the Day...

Browns headline overload!
Ah yes, in the wake of what proved to be a very disappointing loss for the Browns, the Cleveland media has gone wild with gems like the headline above and the headlines below.
A 44. Yep, that sounds about right. I mean, what did you expect? Conditions notwithstanding, Braylon Edwards looked a little like Nate Washington and his second receiver was some dude named Steptoe?
Plus, Jamal Lewis looked like a waste of a 3-year contract extension and Romeo Crennel looked like Jim Zorn (the Zorn of Week 1, of course...and the playcalling, not the physical characteristics...obviously).
Which provides ample segue into the following auxiliary headlines of the day...

But if these ain't enough, feel free to peruse the following links at your leisure...
