Hey, I've Got A Question...

So remember when Big Ben asked for a taller receiver? And remember when we got a 2nd round gem in April's draft named, Limas Swede Sweed?

How come he's yet to play a single down?

Let your opinions abound...

Give the young man a chance.

Remember that long pass in the Philadelphia game, intended for Nate Washington, that Assante Samule intercepted?

Well, I, for one, would have liked to have seen what Limas Sweed might have done with that opportunity.

I watched him in college, and the young man has talent. Give him a chance.

Right now he is being outshone by several other standout rookies (DeSean Jackson, etc.), but he simply hasn't been given a chance on the football field.

It's time. Give him a chance.

Wait, so are you saying we should give him a chance?

Ha! I agree, give #14 a shot.

I'm not sure what he is lacking according to Tomlin?

As long as we don't constantly throw the patented Arians fade route 3 times in a row @ the goal line.

Cotter - photoshop work is sick as always

But hey - if we're gonna throw the fade, at least throw it to 6'4" Sweed and not 6'0" Hines Ward!

Does Sweed lack the blocking ability?

he will see more playing time as the year goes on.

i dont like the idea of letting a 2nd round draft pick learn on the bench (for monetary reasons as well as wasting a year on ht bench). the only way to truly learn is to throw him into the game.

or maybe the steelers know that they cant put 4 wide receivers in because that gives up a another warm body to "try" and block for ben.

silky ~ I could probably tell you that if we ever saw his ability to block...but we haven't. All we've seen is his ability to get left out of the lineup. He's pretty good at that, though.

Seems like everything I've read says his development has been a bit behind schedule. True to Stiller form and philosophy, every decision regarding rookies is quite conservative, usually (there have been exceptions, of course). I think he will get in the mix later this year as well...there must be a good reason he isn't in there yet.

JUST GIVE HIM A CHANCE. A CHANCE. JUST GIVE HIM ONE. A CHANCE.

I think he needs to start playing games of chance to show how serious he is about a chance. I think we need to give peace a chance, give hope a chance, and give Sweed a chance. Maybe when he plays blackjack he can take some chances and hit on 15. Sometimes you don't want to chance it but he really just needs some chance.
