AFC North Headline of the Day...

Controversy, huh? Well I didn't see this so-called, "controversial" play. But it occurs to me that if there's a question of whether or not you hit the opposing QB in the head, you've put yourself in the unenviable position to get that penalty.

Yeah, I like hitting QBs too. But I'm pretty sure Terrell Suggs wasn't just hanging around, minding his own business, when along came an official and flagged him for a blow to Kerry Collins' noggin'.

Point being - quit whining because you let Kerry Collins come back and beat you. Do better next time. Case closed.

Also, on a completely unrelated note, I continue to be over Michael Phelps. Can we all just let it go now? The Olympics have been over for quite some time. This man is no movie star. Let's stop feeding his ego with camera time, shall we? Lest it grow bigger than his gumline. Seriously, have you seen that thing...I think it's eating his teeth.

Anyways, feel free to sink YOUR teeth into these links...

Steely McGome - 2 || Universe - 0 [Dug E. Fresh Rants]

Woodley + Harrison = Wooderson...say man, you got the Monday Morning Chrysler New Yorker? It'd be a lot cooler if you did [PSAMP]

Neal did call it, I'll give him that [On The Black Side]

Here we go. Blame StubHub. Whatever [Florida Times-Union]

I'm glad you think so, James Walker. But I'm gonna bite my tongue for now [ESPN]

This is certainly an interesting take [Fanhouse]

Haha I totally wanted to use that Wooderson quote as well. Figured I'd stick with the "that's why I love h.s. chicks" quote and the "all right all right all right."

As much as i really, really hate to say anything that supports the Murdermore Ratbirds, that Suggs hit *wasn't* a "hit". His hand brushed Collins' helmet a sec after the ball was released. It shoulda been a no-call.

It just makes me even more angry after Ben got held up and repeatedly pounded on that scramble lat night...

I try to joke in the "Diary.." about bad calls, but it does get out-of-control at times. These ARE professional refs, not high school volunteers. They ought to be as good at what they do as any other pro.

And how about Nate "Finally Found His Hands" Washington last night? THAT was what he shoulda been doing for years now! He could turn into a real threat if he keeps that up...

i live in nashville and unfortunately the ten/bal was my only nfl choice for the early game yesterday. so, i ended up watching a good chunk of two teams that i don't really care for.

as much as i hate the ravens, the call was completely lame and most likely cost the ravens the game. it was the kind that surprised kerry collins, alleged victim of the vicious hit.

it was a definite unnecessary penalty - as opposed the lack of whistle while ben was completely held up by 2 jags and 4 others took turns getting their shots in.

not a good day for officiating yesterday.

THANK YOU on Michael Phelps, seriously he popped up on way too many games I happened to be watching: Steelers vs. Browns, Mich vs. Wis, and Titans vs. Ravens. It makes me happy that out of the 3 teams he was cheering for, 2 lost.

Cheers!

P.S. Great live blog last night, are newbies allowed to join in?

lon-ton ~ Gotcha, good to know. But isn't it better if you don't know that, and pretend that it wasn't a bullshit call, and the Ravens are just bitching? /breathes out...

ladi izz ~ Indeed. Any and all are welcome! Thanks for the love on Michael Phelps. I'm just saying, I won like 8 gold medals last night...no big deal. Just by being awesome. But nobody's giving me copious camera time...Well, except for the pregame show. But that doesn't count.
