No Javon Walker Can't Come Out and Play...

...he's not feeling well...

Javon Walker must've been talking about a game of Madden '08 yesterday when he made all those comments about how the Steelers Corners must be shaking scared of him. Because I know he wasn't talking about actually playing the game himself this Sunday...considering the Broncos announced tonight that he is having surgery tomorrow (Friday) and will be out for a "few weeks."

The official word from Head Coach and all around Master of the Understatement, Mike Shanahan:

"Javon's not feeling very good."
What kind of balls must you have to be making comments about stepping all over opposing Corners when you know you might have to have surgery on your knee. I mean he had to know there was a chance, right? Wow, Javon Walker - that's like Joey Porter level shit talking. You know, the kind of -- talk shit to an inconsequential Browns running back during pregame and get kicked out before the game even kicks off -- kind of shit talking...

Good work Javon Walker. Brass balls move of the week. Looks like it's all Greenthumb Henry, Brandon Marshall, Brandon Stokely and Daniel Graham/Tony Scheffler on Sunday. Good luck with that, Jay Cutler...

PS - best part of the AP story (see below for link) by far is the picture of Walker (shown here) with the caption "Javon Walker and his mo-hawk will miss 'weeks' after knee surgery"

I'm surprised at this. Walker has kind of set his team up to face the wrath of an offended Steeler defensive backfield while not even showing up to play. If he knew he was going to be out why would he do that?

Hmmm.

Shanahan's teams don't seem to do too much talking. I was surprised by Walker's statements to begin with. This twist is just bizarre.

WTF?
