To Bong A Beer or Not To Bong A Beer?

That is, the ultimate question.

New Years. What a holiday, huh?

I used to work with a guy back in college who had it right. And sadly, this may have been the only thing he had right, but that's neither here nor there. He used to refer to New Years as "Amateur Night." You know, because millions of people who normally don't drink massive quantities of alcohol go out and intentionally do just that, often with dubious results.

I mean, I'm not trying to be a hermit. I wouldn't mind going out and getting sloshed. Especially because I've had to forgo many opportunities to do so over the past few months due to that bullshit law school thing. But as of this moment, I have no plans.

Would I mind sitting around, drinking a bottle or two of Chimay, hanging out with my dog, playing a little guitar and watching a little TV while everyone else is out making bad decisions and probably getting laid? Hell no! For as much as I like to go out and socialize (not to mention get laid), I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't most comfortable just being a waste of life, posted up on the far left cushion of my couch. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, my normal schedule from September to December and January to May doesn't really allow me to regress into such slothitude. But right now, I'm all about it.

Plus, I've got a really comfortable couch. And that ain't helpin'.

Y'all think I should drag my ass out this year? Or you think I'm cool with a few choice brews and a Man vs. Wild marathon?

Final thought for today - The one cool thing about being fortunate enough to have to work this week (minus tomorrow and Thursday) is that I get my pick of bathroom stalls. I've got my run of the place. Even the handicap stall! Of course, I'm not handicapped. But they've got that "oh shit" handle thing. And to be honest, I eat a lot of salad. Hey Sean, how's that for a TMI Tuesday?

I think you should do what makes you happiest - and most comfortable.
I hate crowds, so my husband and I are normally on the couch drinking beer. I tend to pass out before 12 these last few years, due to getting up at 5:30 each morning.
But don't feel obligated to go out - and pets are the best companions anyway!

Cotter ~ your couch is quite comfortable, but that rolled carpet in the corner is NOT! I don't know how, but I end up sleeping on that thing every time.
Anyways, hey man I say stay at home. I'm going to someone else's place, and not drinking. WOO -f*%@ING-HOO!

After careful consideration, and evidenced in previous posts here at OFTOT. I do love me so bad decision making.

Congratulations on having your run of the place too.

tiny ~ That's pretty much how I feel about it. And since I'm flying solo these days, braving the crowds seems even less desirable. I guess I'll have to just play it by ear.

silky ~ Dude, carpet's been gone for months. Get your head out of the sand, man! And get it up to Hoboken, dick! Birthday. Write that down.

It's okay Cotter, I don't have much of a social life these days either....and I'm not even in law school.

Do what makes you happy dude. After this week, I'm going out and making bad decisions, that's what will make me happy. It's nice to be able to walk back to your place.
If you don't want to stay in, drive in to PGH and hang out with me, haha.
