Who's Up For Some Speculation?

Question.

Would the Steelers have had any more success yesterday if Santonio had played?

Let's discuss...

My answer is a resounding NO

Why?

1. When we call plays on 4th down that are short of the first, it's still an idiotic move, no matter who the receiver is going to be.

2. Because instead of smoking defenders, he probably would have caught the ball and then proceeded to fashion a toking device out of it.

I totally agree!

1. Caveat = unless the receiver is Heath Miller. All he does is get first downs. Seriously. Go watch the film. I still think he's ridiculously underused in our Offense. But then again, someone's gotta stay back and block. We know Willie Colon ain't doin' it.

2. I think he also fashioned a piece out of a helmet, a gatorade cup and the top spout of one of those water bottles. He's an enterprising individual.

I like to think they would have, especially since the giants had a rookie DB out there going against a rookie WR. Holmes wouldn't have added someone else the giants would have had to cover, maybe open the ball up more for Ward.

But lets get these missed games over with now, so the steelers have holmes down the stretch.

of course he would. anytime you are missing your #1 wide receiver it hurts your team. limas sweed has been warming the bench for a reason. the wide receivers could not get open yesterday, and it is in part b/c santonio demands attention. without him, the steelers wide receivers are pretty average.

No, Holmes wouldn't have been responsible for throwing 4 picks. His job duties also do not entail protecting the quarterback.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am SERIOUSLY looking forward to Tobiathan's Dear Diary entry!

And Cotter, I agree about Heath Miller. I can't figure out why he isn't used more. Not to mention the fact that he's on my fantasy team...

i think he would have helped, they would have needed more coverage on him. Also, Nate might not have gotten that one ball he got smacked on that turned to an INT.

If Heath can't get out there b/c he's blocking, what about Spaeth, have him either block or catch, he was a good TE in college (not as good as Heath) give them some balls.

marc - i hear you man, they get heath involved, he moves the chains a couple of times, and then he disappears? And Spaeth deserves some touches too!

Real gay.
