Yeah, I Wrote A Children's Boooook...

"Yeah, I wrote a children's boooook. Who hasn't? I mean, kid's can barely read as it is. How hard could it be to write for them?"

- Strong Bad
If you've followed OFTOT for any extended period of time, you may have noticed references to Strong Bad Emails from Homestarrunner.com. Well, these were a big part of my college experience and if/when I find places to repurpose humor from them, I absolutely will.

This just happens to be one of those times.

See, one of my favorite Strong Bad Emails of all time was the one where Strong Bad talked about how he "wrote a Children's book." This quality programming featured such gems as...
"Some people wears glasses. Beth looks like a dude."

"Some people have braces. Some people have headgear. Fran could play linebacker for the Raiders," and

"Everyone is different. No two people are not on fire."
So as I've done before and will no doubt do again, I've adapted this concept with Steelers related content. Below you'll find MY Children's book, complete with plenty of wisdom and an intense amount Photoshop work.

I hope you enjoy.

School is Cool - A Pittsburgh Steelers Tale

So, guys. What'd you think? I feel like this could be a great teaching tool for America's youth. Domski, you think we could build this into your curriculum for this year?

No really, what'd you guys think?

Oh and by the way, it's nice to know that when you google "Tommy Maddox," the picture in the top left sidebar of this blog titled, "The Mark of Excellence" shows up.

That doesn't seem right, does it?

As the late Mitch Hedberg once said... "every book is a children's book if the kid can read"

I read the Strong Bad (old skool Nintendo) reference and laughed too hard to get through the rest.

But that Epic Fail one with Colon and Simmons is both hilarious and depressing at the same time.

Where can I buy this? I'd much rather read this to my son then the Very Lonely Firefly.

Great stuff. I particularly liked the Tommy Maddox one...it was so random. Loved it!

Gelatenous, Linebacker, and I believe fangoriously is somewhere in there too.

laclips ~ +10 for the Mitch Hedberg reference. With the way kids are these days, I think my book might actually be a positive influence (see: shitting on Tommy Maddox).

neal ~ That one was actually serious. Those assholes better not let Ben get killed on Sunday.

dug e fresh ~ I'm currently negotiating a deal with Random House. But they're being real dicks. I may have to call in the big guns...and by that I mean Drew Rosenhaus.

tec ~ Why thank you, sir. Your kind words are well appreciated.

christy ~ I saved the best for last. I was just happy I could rip on Tommy Gun, Collinsworthless and Brady Quinn's clipboard. Made my day all the brighter. Thanks for the props!

silky ~ I believe we also taught them the word, "asshole" (again, see: Tommy Maddox)...

domski ~ Glad to hear you're getting some practical use out of this nonsense. And psst - save the pillow talk for later...wait, what?
