Anyone who knows me knows I value people's feelings over just about all else. I place a lot of emphasis on emotion and the interpersonal interactions between myself and my fellow man (and woman). So to me, what I'm about to say sounds a bit insensitive. But I'm gonna say it anyway.
Vince Young - if you don't like being boo'd, and you want something to improve your mental state, how about all those benjamins you've got in the bank? Or that huge house you have? Or that luxury SUV you're undoubtedly driving? You wanna play in the NFL, deal with it. That isn't going to change. If you suck, you get boo'd. Hell, your backup Kerry Collins has probably been boo'd just as much as anyone. And in at least four different cities, no less!
I mean I make the Manhattan equivalent of bread crumbs. Just enough to feed myself and fuel my penchant for booze et al. I get shit on everyday at work. And that's not even because I'm not good at what I do. It's just because some people relish the opportunity to shit on other people.
There are certain realities you accept when you sign on that dotted line. This is one of them. Stop whining and either shit or get off the pot. Play better and stop bitching or get out. It's really very simple.

He's a prima donna. I'm sure that somebody along the way told him that their will be times like these, that you have to pick yourself up and move forward, but like his quarterbacks coach, he never listened!
D-bag
Baby want his bottle? '
Talk to Donovan McNabb, talk to Randall Cunningham, then you will begin to understand what criticism is. Vince, you aren't even half the person/quarterback that they are!
What a shitty draft class of QBs, come to think of it, the more that happens wtih most QBs (Alex Smith, Carson Palmer, Leinart, Young, etc) the happier I am with Ben. Then again it's probably partly the Rooneys pcking the correct person and briefing them correctly. I'm guessing besides Philly, we might be the hardest on QBs here in Pittsburgh.
Were they saying "Boo" or "Boo-urns"?
Honestly, I don't think Vince's problem was that he was booed. I think it's that he's realizing that his amazing college QB skills don't translate as well to the NFL where a 300 lb lineman can still run pretty damn fast and a CB will fuck him over royally if his passes aren't consistently perfect.
If anything, tell him to talk to Eli Manning. The NY Media had been giving him shit for three and a half years until he proved that he's not entirely incompetent, and now they love him. It's amazing how much less upset people are when you actually win.
silky ~ Yeah, I mean if he spent as much time studying game film and his playbook as he's spending crying right now maybe he'd actually get better and the boos would disappear?
marc ~ Exactly! Big Ben Godsend. I think it's safe to say we're pretty lucky.
random asshole ~ And I honestly think your assessment is spot on. Well said, my good man.
cotter & random a-hole...I couldn't have said it better myself!
I realize that it may hurt your pride a bit to be boo'd, but shit -he needs to also realize the people that boo him helped pay for his SUV, house, and whatever piece he has around his neck. So, don't the fans have that right?
I don't think he'll ever be an elite QB.
Does anyone remember his wonderlich(sp?) test? he scored extremely low, maybe this is a sign of his actual intelligence. the NFL playbooks and schemes could be too much for his pea-sized brain causing him to get frustrated.
This story can also be linked to what he said in the offseason about wanting to quit after his rookie year. Jeff Fisher didnt want this guy, the Tenn Titans organization chose him.
Jeff Fisher > Titans organization
VY sucks.......next.
