Missing: Cedrick Wilson

Reward: Eh, we're not really that concerned
Ok, but seriously Steeler fans...7 receptions, 93 yards, 0 TDs...Refresh my memory, who was it that complained about not getting enough balls in pre-season?
I'm a little concerned that we're wasting a perfectly good roster spot...

Hmmmmm. Seeing as how ol' Ced has dropped a few passes and Nate Washington is turning into a good pass-catcher i think we'll be seeing significantly less of Mr. Wilson. However, i do seem to think that he might be a factor later in the season as the long-haul starts to take it's toll. Or, he could be on his way out....
I know it's early to be thinking about this, but wouldn't it be great to see our Stillers pick up a big, strong animal-like WR in the draft next year? WVU has a kid last name of Lloyd who is 6'8". Yeah- 6'8"! Granted, this kid is an underclassmen, i think, and hasn't really shown a whole lot yet. But imagine what we could do with six feet and eight inches of a guy who could catch!
Just a thought...
I kinda have a love/hate relationship with plaxico. Its nice to see him flourishing in ny, but i can only imagine how effective he would be right now in pittsburgh. But that would probably mean that we would not have drafted santonio. ***it was nice to see plaxico complain about not getting the ball, leave, and pittsburgh win the super bowl without him*** nate washington is rumored to have the best vertical jump on the steelers, and like tobiathan said, his hands seem to be improving, but having another receiver like wilson only gives us more depth. we should definately target a monster offensive linemen in the draft to replace faneca (if/when he leaves). just my opinion..what do y'all think?
I have a feeling that Big Red Faneca is gonna stay in Steelerburgh. I can't say exactly *why* i think so, just that i do. He definitely has a niche her, a lot of love and respect, and has the advantage of being very familiar with his teammates. By the time this season is over, and especially if we have any post-season success, i can see him foregoing all the big-money dreams and settling for some consistency and comeraderie. Look for Hines, Ben, and Wilie to lay it on thick for him to stay put, IMHO.
That said, i agree with Senor Domski: when draft time comes around we should definitely lok for a premier O-lineman. I'm not big on the idea of signing a free-agent in that position primarily due to the fact that most O-line guys are products of the team they're on and seem to fizzle out in new settings. If Pittsburgh uses a high draft pick on the right guy and signs him to a good deal it could make all the difference in the world.
On another level, though, i am starting to think that our current o-line is actually doing alright. Of course they could do better; any line can always improve. But given that every team seems to bing it's A-game against Ben, Willie et al i'd say those guys up front have held their own, if not necessarily excelled. Cleveland's D-line was busting it's collective tail trying to get at Ben and they, mostly, failed despite putting pressure on him. Look for our unit to tighten up as the season progresses.
A strong couple picks at O-line next spring would definitely go a long way towards keeping Ben healthy in the long run for sho'...
The biggest a** in the free world has GOT TO BE JEFF REED. He appeared on the Hines Ward show on 11/21/07 and after the taping, walked RIGHT PAST ALL THE FANS, turned his head and didn't sign anything for even one kid! I'm not talking about an autograph for an adult, I'm talking about an autograph for a kid (under 10 years old). I met Jeff Reed a couple of years back at a personal appearance of his and he had NO PERSONALITY then. I see time has not changed him at all. He is a complete a**! I can't stand him! I will laugh my a** off the day he gets cut!!!
