Cleveland. Anyone who knows the general Ohio/Western Pennsylvania area knows that Cleveland is the eternal sworn enemy of Pittsburgh, at least on the gridiron. But really, the old rivalry hasn't been much of a challenge since about 1987. So when I heard the Browns got the better end of a coin toss to determine the 3rd overall pick in this year's draft, I at least took notice. But frankly, I wasn't moved.
So what if they take Brady Quinn? LeCharles Bentley (former all-pro center) is still probably going to miss another full season, and god only knows if Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow (Jr.) can stay healthy/uninjured for more than five days at a time.
Look guys, Cleveland doesn't scare anyone. The fact that they almost beat us back in November was a fluke (as the subsequent rivalry game proved). I really don't think even drafting a QB will help them (certainly not Brady Quinn but that's just because I don't think he'll be a very good NFL QB).
I can't really say what would help the Browns. Maybe a good dose of luck, maybe a Cleveland renaissance that would draw YOUNG free agency talent (good thing they got Willie McGinest in like his 16th season)? But for now, all I know is Cleveland's drafting third and has a good chance to get someone really valuable. Will they draft accordingly? Only god knows...
Oh, and one more thing - Browns Fans, you really think Cowher would coach in Cleveland again??? Dream on dudes, theres a better chance that I'll grow facial hair before the age of 35...and umm, the chance of that isn't good...so...yeah.
