You Know Your Team Is Sucking When...

Sunday was a day for anger. Yesterday was a day for reflection. Today, my friends, is a day for laughter.

Since we got all that angst and aggression out of the way, I thought you guys all might enjoy something a little more light hearted today. A change of pace to further help forget our recent loss...and to wipe the palate clean for some Wednesday discussion about our impending battle with the Jags. Not to mention laugh about.

Now listen, my Mom's not going to be excited about this, but unluckily for her, she's the central figure in today's madness. If I've told this woman once, I've told her a thousand times - there are just some times when she cannot talk to me. Namely - before 10 AM on Saturdays and Sundays during Steeler football games. Simple rules, right? Not so simple for the Cotter Mom...

So when my phone started vibrating Sunday during the 3rd Quarter, I didn't even need to get it out...Just hit "Ignore" and turn attention back to the TV. Nevertheless, when I got out of the bar, I had a new voicemail. So I listened, and what I heard was that entertaining that I wanted to share it with you all. Made me laugh, and I hope it has the same effect on you.

Give a listen below...

I have no words. I'll await your responses...

Ballhype: hype it up!

Yup, that pretty much sums it up. Now the question is -- is there any way you can get that message out to the players?

I always have thought that some random mom would do a much better job announcing the game than John Madden. Both would point out the obvious, but the mom would be much less irritating about it. I can just imagine the color commentary after the touchdown on the play action: "Well what did they let 'em do that for?"

Well done Cotter.

Anon - I have asked Coach Tomlin to schedule an impromptu 11 AM meeting. Guest speaker - Mrs. Cotter...

Quiet Strength - Probably would go more like - "See, I bet Tom Brady pays his credit card bills off monthly. That's why he's so good."

That was a nice laugh break, but now it's back to bad news with Aaron Smith being out for the season.

And I was just starting to get my hopes up again...who's his backup? Kirschke? Nick Eason? That's fucking fantastic...

Great message. How many other teams have moms as devoted as Steeler Moms?

Shit, she found it. 10 bucks says this was my sister's fault.

No. Actually I found it myself. I like keeping your humor in my life and this seems to be the way!

Aw, I think that was just a shared public moment...

PS - Poll question to readers - Should my Mom either leave weekly voicemails about the game for me to post OR write a weekly column on why the Steelers will win their game that week?
